Recipe with classic matcha

Ingredients

  • 100 g popcorn
  • 2–3 tablespoons of oil
  • 1-2 tsp green matcha powder
  • 1–2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Some butter or a plant-based alternative

preparation

  1. Prepare the popcorn: Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot and then add the corn kernels over low heat. Cover and shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning. Let it pop until all the kernels have popped and the popping sound has stopped.
  2. Matcha sugar mixture: In a small bowl, mix the matcha powder with the sugar and add the butter.
  3. Apply matcha: Place the warm, popped popcorn in a large bowl. Sprinkle the matcha-sugar mixture over it and mix well so that all the popcorn is evenly coated with the matcha mixture.
Tip: For those who like it a little creamier, you can also drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of melted white chocolate over the popcorn before sprinkling it with matcha. This complements the flavor of the matcha perfectly!
Good luck and have fun snacking!
